How it works
Base inside = product + allowance on each side and on top. The lid must slide over the base walls, so its inside length and width are larger by about two rigid-board thicknesses.
Tip
A lid depth of one-third to full height changes the look: shallow lids feel classic, full-depth lids feel premium.

What board thickness is used?
Rigid boxes typically use 1.5–2.5 mm chipboard; this tool assumes 2 mm.
Should the lid be tight?
A slight air gap lets the lid fall slowly; your maker tunes the fit with samples.
